I've now had the Inspectorate's letter. GREAT! And useful material for the future.
For those of you to whom I'm copying this email to Christine King (both of us were at the Inspectorate's site visit): the Planning Inspectorate in Bristol has turned down the appeal of no. 5 to be allowed to build a house in their front garden! Hooray! With very strong references to the special character of our road, and the need to protect it !!!! That shd hugely strengthen our hand in future in dealing with the local authority and the Planning Committee. Christine and I are thanking the Inspectorate.
I plan to tell residents about this result in the next request from Peter for this year's subs - and on our website, if we can manage to get that organised soon.
Attached is an invite to a Hastings Council consultation on the town's new Local Development Plan (to replace the old Local Plan) with various places to view it. I plan to go to the Bridge Community Centre session or the Town Hall one - to tell them to make sure not to try again to allow inappropriate builds in our road! Any of you who can manage it, could add grist to the mill.
For now, best wishes,
Stewart
